The history of the Lady Le Gros is much older than what most locals would believe. Original census documents date the building to 1841 where the building was occupied by innkepper Isaac Wilson.

The building was given the name 'Lady Le Gros House' in 1851, and in 1936 the Lady Le Gros underwent extensive alterations by W M Darley Ltd. This modern look of the pub still stays in this form today.
